Finding a bra that truly delivers on comfort, support and style can feel like an endless pursuit. Too often, we’re asked to compromise: an underwire that pinches, straps that dig in by lunchtime, or a design that looks beautiful but feels anything but. Even when the fit is technically right, the bra itself may still fall short – whether in construction, fabric or longevity.

If you’ve already discovered a bra that works flawlessly for you, consider yourself fortunate. But for everyone else still searching for that elusive holy grail, rest assured, it does exist. The best bras are those that fade into the background while elevating how you look and feel. And that’s exactly what we’re here to help you find.

Having gathered insights from experts who live and breathe lingerie – from passionate British Vogue staffers to underwear designers and professional stylists – our edit of the best bras for 2026 is tried, tested and genuinely worn. Expect time‑honoured classics alongside newcomers in the lingerie space, with a particular focus on pieces that feel as good at 9am as they do at 9pm. Plus, look out for insider knowledge on the bras stylists rely on behind the scenes to achieve a flawless finish, whether that’s on set, on the red carpet or under a sheer slip dress.

When looking at the key bra trends for 2026, we identified a core line-up that everyone is loving right now. Bras with soft structure, flexible boning, lighter padding and innovative fabrics replace rigid construction (something that Skims has excelled in). Invisible finishes, including bras with seamless cups, bonded edges and ultra‑fine straps designed to disappear under even the trickiest outfits, have also been resoundingly popular.

At the same time, there’s a noticeable shift in mindset. Today’s bra shoppers are increasingly drawn to pieces that look good and do good, favouring recycled microfibres, responsibly sourced lace and thoughtfully made designs built to last. Aesthetic appeal, however, remains non-negotiable. Delicate mesh, intricate embroidery and colourways that move beyond basic black and beige endure.

How we chose our favourite bras

Vogue editors wore each style for extended periods – at desks, on shoots, while travelling and during long days on their feet – to assess comfort, durability and support. We considered how bras performed after multiple washes, whether straps stayed put, and how fabrics felt against the skin after hours of wear.

We also consulted lingerie designers and fit specialists to understand the technical details that make a bra truly great: cup construction, strap placement, band tension and fabric choice. Finally, we spoke to fashion stylists about the bras they keep in their kit bags for shoots, fittings and red‑carpet moments. It goes without saying that bras aren’t universal, which is why we’ve divided this article by specific needs. We hope that you’ll find at least one bra that matches your preferences!

Why you can trust us

Our recommendations are shaped by experience, expertise and honesty. Every bra in this edit has been independently selected by our editors. No matter the brand, each piece is judged on the same criteria: comfort, quality, fit, longevity and style. If it doesn’t deliver on all fronts, it doesn’t make the cut. Our goal is simple: to help you find a bra that supports you – literally and stylistically – every single day.

Stripe And Stare

Crossover Bra

Product details:

  • Sizes: XS-4X
  • Colours: 3 options
  • Style notes: Made from 95 per cent biodegradable Tencel, non-wired with adjustable straps and hook-and-eye fastening.

Why we like it:

Comfort is top priority for co-founder of Stripe & Stare, Katie Lopes. “We only use Tencel fibres in our bras and across our range as it is so soft,” she tells Vogue. “These fibres are scientifically-proven to be two to three-times softer than cotton, but still made of natural fibres that breathe with your skin.” Katie explains that the Crossover bra even takes natural physical changes into consideration: “As women, our bodies fluctuate throughout the month, so we’ve designed our bras to be soft and supportive but not restrictive. This ensures they can move and adapt with your body as it changes.” Vogue staffers have tried the Crossover bra and attest to its comfort.

SKIMS

Fits Everybody T-Shirt Bra

Product details:

  • Band sizes: 30-46
  • Cup sizes: A-H
  • Colours: 8 options
  • Style notes: T-shirt silhouette, moulded demi-coverage, lightly-lined cups, adjustable straps, flexible underwire.

Why we like it:

Ultimately, a T-shirt bra should be comfortable and discreet, and like many of Skims’s products, the Fits Everybody T-Shirt bra is made from ultra-soft, stretch-woven fabric that smoothes and sculpts while enhancing a natural silhouette. The underwire is flexible, which makes it less likely to dig in, plus the vast selection of colourways is a game changer. According to Vogue’s fashion assistants, many Vogue shoots have been bolstered by Skims’s bra offering.

Wonderbra

Ultimate Wired Strapless Bra

Product details:

  • Band sizes: 32-38
  • Cup sizes: A-E
  • Colours: 10+ options
  • Style notes: Underwired, smooth padded cups with hand-shaped support technology, secure non-slip design featuring silicone pin-dots on the back band, hook and eye fastening.

Why we like it:

It can be hard to come by a good strapless bra that doesn’t dig in, but smooths and supports your bust, so when you find a good one, make sure you hold onto it. This style from Wonderbra is often used by stylists on fashion shoots to achieve a seamless, photo-ready finish. While many strapless bras try to accommodate the lack of straps by tightening the band, this innovative design features a secure, non-slip design created with silicone pin-dots on the back – so your usual size should work fine. However, if you want a more comfortable fit, a single band size up should also work well.

Dora Larsen

Freda Bra

Product details:

  • Band sizes: 32-38
  • Cup sizes: A-DD
  • Colours: 5 options
  • Style notes: Organic cotton with underwire, hook and eye clasp, adjustable straps.

Why we like it:

Dora Larsen founder Georgia Larsen tells Vogue that she wants women to feel “comfortable in their own skin, joyful, empowered, free!” These are but a few reasons that led to the unrestrictive design of the Freda bra, which is made from organic cotton that’s “great for comfort and breathability.” Some of my friends with smaller cups love Larsen’s designs and choose these bras over others thanks to the beautiful materials used. I’m a size 32D, and have a couple of other friends with larger busts, and we all swear by Dora Larsen for feminine underwear that also offers support. However, I would suggest sizing up in the band for a more giving fit around the ribs.

Love Stories

Comfortable Triangle Bralette

Product details:

  • Band sizes: 30-36
  • Cup sizes: A-D
  • Colours: 8 options
  • Style notes: Triangle bralette, satin and lace fabric, tonal elasticated band, adjustable shoulder straps, hook and eye fastening.

Why we like it:

This Love Stories bralette looks and feels luxurious, while offering enough comfort to wear day in, day out. The band is supportive for larger busts, and the soft, unlined cups provide shape – which is a rarity for bralettes. It also comes in a number of colourways, with a delicate lace trim. One member of team Vogue has been wearing her Love Stories bras for years, sharing that she most often wears hers under T-shirts or on days when she wants to feel most comfortable when working from home.

Product details:

  • Sizes: XS-3XL
  • Colours: 10+ options
  • Style notes: Eco-friendly recycled mesh, mesh under-band with inner-elastics, adjustable hook and eye closure at the back.

Why we like it:

Understatement’s offering is vibrant, fun and exudes a particular kind of confidence. The mesh material of the Triangle bralette is soft and semi-sheer for a subtly sexy look and – like all of the brand’s bras – it doesn’t feature underwire or tags, instead incorporating branded metal rings at the straps and a silicone care label. All of this measures up to Understatement’s firm belief that underwear should make women feel free and unrestricted from the very first layer.

Why we like it:

Believe us when we tell you that anything from Hanro is worth the investment. Having felt this bra IRL, we’ve come to the conclusion that it’s one of the softest out there. Plus, the broad under-bust band provides reliable support and, even without underwire, it accommodates a smooth, seamless look for up to an E cup. Why we like it:

Bravissimo’s The Millie bra is a customer favourite. Thanks to the flay-laying lace, it offers the perfect balance between being functional and sexy: it will sit smoothly under clothes and look beautiful on the body while offering effective support. We think this bra stands out from other larger bust styles due to its non-padded, soft stretch cups that hold up the bust without making you feel caged in. It also features side-slings and liners which allow the soft cup to provide a rounded shape.

Thankfully, Pepper stocks an array of stylish and comfortable bras spanning band sizes 30-42 in AA, A and B cups. FAQs

What is the best brand for bras?

A great bra should deliver at least one of the following: comfort, support and style. The job description sounds simple, but in practice, it’s hard to find the right candidate – and very few make it past the probation period. After trialing countless styles and gathering intel from fellow bra-wearers, we soon noticed a few common threads.

Firstly, M&S is a tried-and-true favourite due its wide range of affordable basics, alongside styles that are specifically made to be worn with tricky necklines – such as the strapless bra included in our edit above. Another crowd pleaser is the Skims Fits Everybody bra, which has been awarded Vogue team kudos due to the wide range of sizes and shades it comes in. And lastly, for something with a little lace, Agent Provocateur’s Lorna bra has garnered more than a few honourable mentions around the office and has been spotted on the likes of Beyoncé, Gabbriette and Victoria Beckham. What’s not to like?

How often should I replace my bra?

Look after your bras, and they can last for years. However, due to wear and tear and (hopefully) frequent washing, bras can lose elasticity relatively quickly. This is why you might find citations suggesting that you should be replacing your bras every six months. (Yes, you read that right.) Although this sounds like overkill, many of us wear a bra every day and, as it’s an undergarment, it gets a lot of close skin action which can lead to faster deterioration of the fabric. That said, if you alternate bras regularly and remember to hand wash or use a gentle spin cycle, you should be able to get a good amount of use out of your bras.

When this question was put to Vogue staffers, many of us agreed that our favourite bras are the ones we’ve worn in over at least the last year – they’re the ones that have moulded to our exact proportions and don’t squeeze us in the wrong places.

What type of bra is best for everyday?

The best bra for everyday is something that is comfortable and can be worn with a number of your favourite outfits. Unfortunately, this is by no means an easy feat. Comfort looks and feels different to everyone and every bust: small busts won’t need underwire while larger busts will likely feel more comfortable in something with support. Not to mention, with the ever changeable weather, you might be wearing a long-sleeved T-shirt one day and a strapless top the next, so it’s worth having a few options on hand. Alternatively, you can look to something with a removable strap.

There is no one size fits all in this department, which is exactly why we have put together a concise edit of bras that will see you smoothly through your everyday, no matter what your needs might be.

What type of bra is most flattering?

The way a bra sits under clothing can completely transform the silhouette of a look. For everyday outfits, a T-shirt bra is great for achieving a smooth, undetectable finish under clothing and is usually made from materials that will allow your clothes to move freely without clinging to the bra. The same goes for soft cup triangle bras that are great under anything from vests to jumpers and are often lauded as the most comfortable option out there. Alternatively, if you are wearing something that calls for a little more structure, then padded bras, bras with underwire or bras with side-slings will help you to achieve a rounded, supported shape. Our best rule of thumb is to try different styles on with each outfit and see how they move with the fabrics and adapt the lines of the overall look.
