Every so often, an item of clothing achieves something akin to The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants status, popping up on red carpets, A-listers and Instagram carousels in a seemingly relentless loop. As expertly demonstrated by Amanda Seyfried and Julia Roberts last year, even Hollywood stars aren’t afraid to twin every so often. There was the Miu Miu micro skirt, which at its peak was racking up more magazine covers than the average supermodel, or more recently, the Chanel X Charvet shirt that’s serving as a pared-back palate cleanser after last summer’s explosion of Pucci dresses.
The latest piece celebrity stylists are clamouring for? An embroidered Conner Ives coat, which just made its Paris debut draped atop the shoulders of fashion week royalty: Kate Moss. Taken from Ives’s autumn/winter 2025 collection, the brand – in a great example of speaking something into existence – describes it as the “coat of the season”. Celebrity endorsements aside, who doesn’t want to inject a little jazz-hands energy into a grey, drizzly January? It’s not the first time a Conner Ives piece has captured the moment: the designer’s “Protect The Dolls” T-shirt took over Instagram last year when it was worn by Pedro Pascal, Haider Ackermann and Troye Sivan, to name just three.
Now, the designer’s embroidered cherry-blossom coat has been quietly finding its way into the hearts (and wardrobes) of some of our fave big hitters. Jennifer Lawrence was an early adopter, wearing the coat back in October for the Die, My Love headline gala in London over a backless Armani Privé gown.
The coat has appeared in the pages of both US (on Alex Cooper) and Australian Vogue (on Margot Robbie). And this week, supermodel Moss was snapped wearing it over blue jeans in Paris, before her traditional (and sensational) appearance at the Saint Laurent show. With London Fashion Week autumn/winter 2026 on the horizon, we’re anticipating many more sightings.
