When Heated Rivalry – the Canadian gaymance about two brickhouse athletes navigating the heterosexual terrain of ice hockey – hijacked water cooler conversations, one question became inevitable: which fashion brand would be first to claim its leads, Hudson Williams and Connor Storrie, as their own? And, well, it surprised no one that Dsquared2’s Dean and Dan Caten – fellow Canadians and architects of their own caked-up universe – beat everyone to the punch, flying Williams into Milan, where he opened their autumn/winter 2026 presentation.
Nor should it have come as a shock that Saint Laurent’s Anthony Vaccarello – a designer who summarised his spring/summer 2026 collection with the line, “because I’m gay” – would be the one to get Storrie. Having already worn the brand to the Golden Globes, the 25-year-old Texan last night made his fashion week debut at its autumn/winter 2026 show, dressed in a 1980s-shouldered suit and with a leather-trenched François Arnaud never straying too far from his side. The co-stars, who are believed to be dating, but could, of course, be best friends, or flatmates, were also seen leaving Hotel Costes together earlier that evening with the casual intimacy of two people who have shared each other’s bodies (on screen, I mean, with the viewing public).
In what could be read as a tentative first step into couple’s dressing, Arnaud wore a double-breasted wool coat layered over a chunky V-neck knit, wide-leg trousers and lace-up boots, while Storrie gave his best James Dean in a leather aviator jacket, a white T-shirt, high-waisted jeans and ankle boots. “What you see across all his looks is that moment when menswear shifted in the ’20s and ’30s, and men started wearing wider legs and more generous cuts on the blazer,” his stylist James Yardley this week told Vanity Fair’s José Criales Unzueta. “When you tie that with his hair, you get this man who you can style from multiple reference points and from different decades, and not with a costume element, because it’s never that, but with a nod to leading men from Hollywood history.” And what does every great leading man in Hollywood have? A rumoured boyfriend.
