As arguably the most important awards ceremony recognising performances across both film and television, tonight’s 83rd Golden Globe Awards red carpet brought together some of Hollywood’s biggest names – among them (deep breath) British Vogue cover star Jessie Buckley, Jennifer Lawrence, Julia Roberts, Michael B Jordan, Amanda Seyfried, Emma Stone, Timothée Chalamet, Leonardo DiCaprio, Ariana Grande, Teyana Taylor, Emily Blunt, Jacob Elordi and Paul Mescal – at the Beverly Hilton hotel in Los Angeles, for a historically debauched night that also served as a bellwether for the Academy Awards later this spring.

Though this year’s event produced its share of memorable moments – Jennifer Lawrence in an almost-nude dress care of Givenchy by Sarah Burton, Jessie Buckley in an asymmetric swag of pale-blue Dior lace, Amal Clooney in a bombshell Balmain bodycon – few red carpets on the awards calendar pose as much of a headache as the Golden Globes. Held in early January – by which point the most coveted autumn/winter pieces have already done the rounds, and before fashion offices are fully back online following the holidays – stylists are forced into a race against time. “There’s almost no time to think,” as Rose Ford said – she had less than three weeks to pull together Emma D’Arcy and Coralie Fargeat’s looks in 2025. “But it does push you to be more intuitive with your decisions.”
