Bridgerton actress Phoebe Dynevor recently became team bob’s newest celebrity recruit, joining the likes of Lily Collins, Ayo Edebiri and Gracie Abrams. Vogue revealed how celebrity hairstylist Cervando Maldonado – also responsible for maintaining Daisy Edgar-Jones’s tresses – transformed the star’s long strawberry blonde hair with a chic, shoulder-grazing cut. “Phoebe has had long hair for a while and was ready for a change,” Maldonado told Vogue at the time. He described the style as a modern take on the classic midi bob, inspired by Lauren Hutton and Nastassja Kinski in Paris, Texas.
That was back in November, and a couple of months on, the actor has stepped out with a revamped twist that proves short hair is more versatile than you might think. Celebrating Bulgari’s new Eternal Collection in Beverly Hills, the actress wore her hair combed behind her ears in an off-centre parting. Each strand was slicked down with product for a wet-look effect that draws attention to the features – particularly the eyebrows and cheekbones. The striking style couldn’t be easier to recreate at home.
Start by detangling and sectioning your hair into your chosen parting, before brushing it downwards. Grab your styling product of choice, whether it be a gel for maximum hold or a leave-in conditioner to treat the hair while styling it. Guide the product down from the top of your head using a brush, ensuring that excess product has been removed from the ends. If necessary, secure the hair with a thin hairband and reinforce with a wax stick or light layer of hairspray, depending on your preference.
Hair aside, make-up artist Jennifer Luney Tioseco kept Phoebe’s glam on the subtle side, allowing her bob to take centre stage. Cheeks were expertly contoured with minimal layers of bronzer and blush before the trending lip of the moment (thank you, Nina Park) tied it all together.
