In the precise words of my colleague Daniel Rodgers: “I find it difficult to look at an image of Romeo Beckham with his girlfriend Kim Turnbull and not want to bash out a piece about them raiding David and Victoria’s wardrobe.” Indeed, the 23-year-old model appears to dress almost exactly as his footballer dad did in the late 1990s and early 2000s. Meanwhile 24-year-old model and DJ Turnbull is a glamorous brunette who is not averse to long leather Matrix-style coat (go figure).
All of which is to say, the pair were recently spotted in Paris, a few days after Romeo Beckham’s appearance on the Willy Chavarria runway. He was wearing slouchy camo trousers, black Timberland boots, a techy jacket zipped up to the top and a beanie pulled down low, which has become something of a signature look. Kim was in casual trackies and loafers, under the aforementioned leather jacket. As a pair, they looked as though they could have stepped out of the tabloid celeb pages circa 2001.
Of all the young Beckhams, Romeo appears to have the most fashion credentials and is therefore one of the more compelling in terms of street-style. He made his modelling debut aged just 10 for Burberry, and has since gone on to walk for everyone from Balenciaga (where he made his runway debut back in 2024) to Versace and, in London, H&M. Meanwhile, in case you didn’t clock from the name, Turnbull – who has worked with everyone from Marc Jacobs to Miu Miu – is also the daughter of Alex Turnbull, DJ and founder of one of the UK’s first hip-hop labels, Ronin Records, and granddaughter of famous artist William Turnbull. So, you know, they both have that nepo baby gleam.
Arguably, no modern couple could reach the heights of David and Victoria’s joint slay at the turn of the millennium. But, if any double act was to come close, it would make sense for one half to be a Beckham.
